Chabad-Lubavitch of Larchmont and Mamaroneck, N.Y., honored 17 local high school students for their year-long commitment to community service.

Back in September, the youths began the TFC – Teens for the Community program at the Chabad House under the direction of Rabbi Mendel and Chana Silberstein.

Over the course of the school year, the teenagers prepared hundreds of sandwiches for homeless people, raised more than $1,000 to benefit children with cancer, recorded story books on tape for foster children, baked challah and hamentashen for people with special needs, arranged a Chanukah party at a local hospital, visited seniors at a local geriatric center, made more than 400 food baskets for Purim, crafted pillows and jewelry for the children of Sderot, Israel, ran a clothing drive for needy Israeli families, and volunteered at a local food bank. …
