After visiting with victims of terror in Jerusalem, Academy Award winner Jon Voight met 36 children from irradiated sections of Eastern Europe upon their arrival in Israel as part of the 80th rescue flight of Chabad’s Children of Chernobyl program.

A guest of the Chabad-Lubavitch Youth Organization in Israel, Voight flew in Sunday and immediately went to a Hapoel Yerushalayim soccer match at Jerusalem’s Teddy Stadium, where he hosted 50 children and their families, all beneficiaries of Chabad's Terror Victims Project.

On Tuesday, he toured the Negev Dessert community of Sderot, a frequent target of Palestinian rockets fired from the Gaza Strip, where he distributed presents to children.

“Israel is this blessing for all mankind,” the actor told the Channel 10 television station. “G‑d gave this land to the Jewish people, they shouldn’t be giving it away. We know the agenda of Hamas is to destroy Israel.”

Voight’s itinerary on Wednesday included stops at soup kitchens and visits with impoverished families throughout the country. …
