Hundreds of people attended the dedication of a new Sephardic Torah scroll at the home of Chabad-Lubavitch of Ramat Eliyahu in Rishon Lezion, Israel.
Donated by the Nakash Family in memory of father Moshe Nakash, the Torah was ushered in by a slew of notables, including Israeli Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger and Rishon Lezion mayor Meir Nizan.
Written according to Sephardic custom and carried in a silver and gold-embossed case, the Torah was brought to the Chabad House by a throng of singing and dancing celebrants.
During the event, Metzger praised the Chabad House, directed by Rabbi Chanan and Orli Kochunovski, for uniting the entire community for Jewish causes. ...
