The charter airline Israir’s new Airbus 330 airplane got a spiritual sendoff last week before its takeoff from Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport when Rabbi Yaakov Gloiberman, director of Chabad-Lubavitch of Lod, presented the crew with a charity box and a one-volume set of a prayer book, Psalms and Chumash.
Israir officials, including president and CEO Zohar Endelman, were on hand for the ceremony, which also saw Gloiberman affix a symbolic mezuzah to the plane’s entryway.
Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Pinchas Althaus from the Chief Rabbinate of Russia was also in attendance. …
