NBC’s “Today Show” featured a segment on New York City principal Shimon Waronker, a Chabad-Lubavitch Chasid under whose watch a failing Bronx middle school has gone from one of the city’s most dangerous to one of the most promising.

The March 12 report follows an article in the New York Times that highlighted Waronker’s take-charge attitude when it comes to leading a student body and faculty almost written off by the public.

Waronker, who lives in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, speaks fluent Spanish and served time in the military before studying in a Chabad-Lubavitch yeshiva. …
