More than 140 women gathered in Rome for a pre-Purim celebration dedicated to the Jewish woman. Organized by Chabad-Lubavitch of Rome in the home of the philanthropic Tagliacozzo family, the event featured words of Torah from Sara Hazan, co-director of Chabad-Lubavitch of Rome, and Chana Hazan, co-director of Chabad-Lubavitch of Monteverde.

In addition, Jewish opera singer Yaffa Borukhova, a native of Dushanbe, Tajikistan, performed a selection of songs in their original Ladino and Russian.

Attendees also learned about the upcoming holiday of Purim, which begins Thursday night, and donated funds to assist with orphan brides in Israel. …
