The Student Finance Board at The College of New Jersey in Ewing awarded full funding to the Chabad student club for a Thursday night Purim party. According to The Signal student newspaper, the board exhibited some hesitation over the entertainment budget, but decided in the end to grant the $2,684 without reservations.

“I feel like it tells the story of the holiday, so [props] are important,” Maya Wadya, the board’s assistant financial director, reportedly said.

Rabbi Akiva Greenbaum, co-director of Chabad-Lubavitch serving the university, said that the party’s key draw was a performance by the Drum Caf, a professional drum circle. He expressed thanks to the student board on Wednesday and then added: “It’s going to be a blast!” …
