The "What You Asked..." section of the Chabad.org Website reached a milestone with the posting of its 350th question this week.
Since it was launched in 2007, the section – which features a selection of answers by some 15 scholars who correspond with tens of thousands people across the globe – has featured responses to such questions as "Why is the holiday named Purim?" and "Where does the name Getzel come from?"
Some of the published topics touch on core issues of Jewish life, such as the dilemma faced by one person who asked whether it was better to buy an expensive menorah or give the money to charity, and "What is your view on the Chanukah bush phenomenon?"
The scholars who staff Chabad.org’s Ask the Rabbi service publish their responses to topics that may have a wider appeal to the public. …
