Photographer Ramin Talaie’s shot of the group photo at the 2006 International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Emissaries was among the more than 80 images picked as the most compelling travel snapshots in the second-annual World in Focus contest, presented by Photo District News and National Geographic Traveller.

Talaie’s snapshot, entitled “Annual Gathering of Lubavitcher Rabbis, Brooklyn, N.Y.,” was entered in “The Human Condition” category; it shows a panoply of some of the more than 2,500 emissaries who congregated in front of Lubavitch World Headquarters for their traditional “class photo.” …
