In Krakow, Poland, to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp, a delegation of six Israeli Knesset members ate their Shabbat meals at the city’s Chabad House operated by Rabbi Eliezer and Esther Gurary.
The rabbi led the group, consisting of MKs Rabbi Meir Porush (UTJ), Nissim Zeev (Shas), Nissan Slomiansky (Mafdal), Colette Avital (Labor), Yoram Marciano (Labor) and Finance Committee chairman Stas Misezhnikov (Yisrael Beitenu), on a tour of the city’s historic synagogues and cemetery, and on Saturday night, 30 members of the European Parliament joined the delegation for a post-Shabbat celebration.
Avital, a former presidential candidate, presented a gift to the Gurarys on behalf of Israel’s parliament.
