After seven years of successful operation, Kol Yakov Yehudah, a youth synagogue in Los Angeles affiliated with Chabad-Lubavitch of Hancock Park, will be celebrating the completion of its very own Torah scroll this week. The Torah, donated in honor of a congregant who has autism, represents a milestone for the shul, which has earned headlines for its youth-only services. "When the older kids come back from their yeshivas for vacation, they always come to Kol Yakov Yehudah to daven,” Rabbi Mendel Duchman, a local businessman and volunteer coordinator of the synagogue, told The Jewish Journal. “We’ve changed everything about children looking forward to shul." ...
