Noted Talmudic scholar Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz opened a new monthly English lecture series in Chasidic thought at Heichal Menachem, a Chabad-Lubavitch library in Jerusalem. The inaugural class was held on the 24th day of the Hebrew month of Teves, the yahrzeit of the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, of righteous memory, and looked at the Tanya, the fundamental treatise he wrote in 1798. According to Heichal Menachem project coordinator Rabbi Zvi Hirsh Ruderman, more than 100 people attended the class, whose next installment will be on the 22nd day of the Hebrew month of Shevat, the yahrzeit of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson, of righteous memory. ...
