As Chabad.org-hosted applications for popular Facebook social networking site grow to more than 20,000 installations, Rabbi Moshe Plotkin, co-director of Chabad-Lubavitch of New Paltz, N.Y. and a developer of some applications, has turned his sites to the open-standards based system being pushed by Google. In layman's terms, Web users will now be able to install a "Torah widget" to their Google Desktop and iGoogle pages featuring short snippets of Torah lessons and links to the weekly parshah and other Jewish texts.
