Residents of Crown Heights were surprised to see some other bearded folk around the neighborhood this past week, when a group of Pennsylvania Amish tourists came to visit the Chabad-Lubavitch Jewish Children's Museum.
For their part, the group of three men and five women were apparently impressed by the museum's offerings, and took part in its activities, including the chance to crawl through a giant replica of a challah. Their guide took the opportunity to tell the visitors about the Seven Universal Laws that apply to all mankind.
When asked what brought them to a distinctly Jewish neighborhood, one of the men said, "It is interesting for us to see up close how Jewish people live."
