An estimated 500 people, about 10 percent of the Jewish community of Glasgow, attended the eighth Kosher Food and Wine Expo hosted by Chabad-Lubavitch of Scotland.

Opened by longtime supporters Adam and Anita Berkley, the event drew Rabbi Moshe Rubin of the Giffnock and Newlands Hebrew Congregation.

Numerous companies who manufacture and distribute fosher food and wines donated their products for tasting and take-home samples, while representatives from Whole Foods Food Market, Grant’s Smoked Salmon and Lochduart Smoked Salmon attended in person.

L’Chaim Restaurant run by Chabad-Lubavitch of Scotland directors Rabbi Chaim and Sora Jacobs offered guests homemade soups, latkes, chopped liver and salt beef, and guest Chef Denise Phillips of London led several cooking and baking demonstrations.
