The first-ever Chasidic story book, an 1814 manuscript containing tales of Rabbi Israel Baal Shem Tov, is now available in Russian.

Released in honor of the 300th anniversary of the passing of the Chasidic movement’s founder, Shivchei Habesht was translated by Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Boruch Gorin of Moscow’s Lchaim Publishing House.

Available for purchase through the Federation of Jewish Communities, the text will be distributed among educational institutions as a supplement to their Judaic studies curricula.
