Thank you for talking about this! You give dignity to abuse victims girls and boys everywhere! A sexual assault, rape, or otherwise of a child is sad. No it should never happen. We know despite good loving families (who often blame themselves unfortunately)there are many children who are hurt through sexual abuse. This is is a very good and honorable program. Reply

Thank you for this discussion of unfortunate and traumatic events. Oshrit Elisha did such good by talking of this and you Chana are a empathetic host. Shalom! Reply

Very helpful. Hard topics to discuss in open fashion. I also faced some of same situations turning to same destructive behaviors. To hear her be honest about her struggles very healing. It was, for me, a ten year battle which Hashem Be Praised was also with me and finally when I turned my prayers and fasting to helping others in my secret prayer life I was free. Of course others gave consol and help along the way. It has now been over 40 years of Not going back to the bad but to the "I can!" With Hashem. Reply

in response to J R Israel:

Wow! That's amazing, may you continue on this wonderful good path. I also loved how open and honest Oshrit was about her past challenges. Reply

Really chilling and powerful story. What touched me the most was the fact how early childhood memories and family life and traditions always find their way back in our lives. From the Holidays she remembered spending with her family, to the prayers, to the lessons (to die as a Jew you need to say the Shema. It doesn't matter how you lived your life, you can't change the past, but when faced with death you know you want to do it right, and die in the comfort of the words of the Shema. It's amazing how through the years and hardships, and craziness, the Shema will always be our life support).
Thank you for your amazing shiurs and interviews. They are always a delight to listen to! Reply

Chana Weisberg March 26, 2024
in response to Dana:

Dana, that's such a good point. it's amazing how much of an impact our childhood can have. There are so many stories of how powerful --and comforting-- the words of Shema are for Jews throughout the generations! Reply

Jodi Nicastro Stony Brook March 20, 2024

Incredible story thanks so much! I love that you do such a variety of different stories! Reply

Chana Weisberg March 26, 2024
in response to Jodi Nicastro:

Thank you! I really try to have a variety of people. We can learn so much from everyone around us! Reply

Odaya Buta-Scott San Francisco March 20, 2024

Thank you so much, Chana and Chabad for the “Meleches Kodesh״ you do. This is my first time watching “Chabad.org video” and I was touched by Oshrit Elisha’s story and inspiring personality, and by the way Chana interviewed Oshrit, which was so warm and responsible (especially when discussing traumatic events). Please continue discussing women’s topics from different/unusual perspectives. Reply

Chana Weisberg March 26, 2024
in response to Odaya Buta-Scott:

Thank you Odaya, welcome to the podcast. I will definitely try to continue! Please make sure you are subscribed so that you get our future interviews. Reply
