Do Your Fears Stop You?

When G-d invites Moses to confront the evil Pharaoh of Egypt, Moses is initially afraid. But facing our biggest fears, by feeling G-d at our side, frees us to actualize our greatest selves.

I learned a mamer of the Rebbe on parshas Bo. He said that Moshe Rabbeinu had to go to Pharaoh to redeem the sparks of kedushah that were in him. Trapped in Pharaoh were very high sparks of holiness that were too great for Moshe Rabbeinu to contain. He was scared because they could destroy him. Hashem helped Moshe contain those sparks. Those sparks were what we needed to get to leave Egypt.
The reason we have to face our fears is because they contain our greatest connection to Hashem. We have to be willing to embrace all of our reality, because all of it is a manifestation of Hashem. The darkest parts, the ones we are afraid of, contain the greatest lights. We don't have vessels to contain them. That's why we are afraid. But when we go with Hashem, Who contains everything, He'll contain it all for us. We must partner with Hashem and know that we are one with Him. Then we will be able to go about our lives with success. Because it will be clear that it is Hashem's success. Reply
