So Rashi focuses on the fact that the evil spies did not learn the lesson of Miriam being punished for speaking 'too much' or loshon hara. Go check out the land and report back. 'We can not imagine that level of miracle to survive this people and their land.'

Subsequently Jews have been massacred in pogroms, WWII. In our own times Jews are blamed and murdered for the ills of global societies.

So annually we learn Shelach. In my old age I find myself wondering what is left for us to speak about? History repeats itself and we relearn Torah and history repeats itself.

I'm not being facetious or disrespectful, I simply do not get it anymore... Reply
