I don's see "Attic" in The Ten Sefirot (Kaballah) - how does "Attic"relates to Sefirot? Reply

in response to Alex B:

Pnimiut Haketer and Atik Good question.

Atik is actually part of the general structure of Keter which is the source of the Sefirot. Generally, Keter is divided in two; Chitzoniut Haketer (Outer Crown) which directly impacts the Sefirot, while Pnimiut Haketer (Inner Crown) - Atik - is too intense to be revealed in the Sefirot in a direct way.

There are several ways of counting the Sefirot. Sometimes Keter is counted as the highest of the ten, and Daat is excluded. Alternatively, Keter is considered above the ten Sefirot. In any case it is the source, in Chasidut the divine "Will", for the Sefirot, especially the level of Chitzoniut Haketer.

I should point out, that the text here divides in two levels - Pnimius Haketer and Pnimius Atik, although generally in Chasidic literature Atik is actually considered the Pnimiut Haketer itself. Apparently here the Rebbe wants to emphasize the highest source of Torat HaChasidut, being a level even higher then what is generally considered "Pnimiut Haketer". Reply
