(Some) Stress is Good for You!

Stress can be motivating to some people. Others become alarmed at the first sign of any type of stress. And there are even others when they sense a small amount of stress in their friends or family, they immediately tell them to calm down. Everything that we experience in our bodies is given to us from G d for a positive reason, however, if we assume it was for a negative reason then that it shall probably be. Everything I’ve ever done in my life has always had a flavoring of some type of stress; it’s been either a dash of stress or either a big heaping tablespoon. And I can honestly say that I’ve created and accomplished some of my best pieces of work when I’ve been under stress. As lovers and followers of G d, I don’t really feel we have to fear stress as much as we’ve been told. Reply

So True! Great lesson to be mindful of in tough emotional events. It's all on how one sees the circumstances. Positive or negatively. When we walk out our life in faith and believe Hashem has our best in mind for us at all times. Then we can view difficult events in a positive light. And that will keep oneself and the others in the event, more at peace. Reply

I was taught this in either elementary or highschool - and now I'm in my 40s. The terms used were distress, or eustress. Reply

I completely agree. I am 63 years old and I am a pediatrician, my level stress is high, but I see my job like a challenge. I enjoy it, my heart and mind work the moment. Reply
