Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. (400 grams) chicken breast, cut into strips
  • 7 oz. (200 grams) pretzel sticks
  • 4 tbsp. mustard
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • dash of black pepper
  • canola oil for frying

Directions:

  1. Place pretzels in a zip-top bag and crush into small pieces (use a rolling pin or meat tenderizer). Tip mixture out into a shallow bowl or plate.
  2. Whisk the egg, honey, mustard, mayonnaise, and pepper together in a medium-sized bowl.
  3. Dip the chicken into the egg mixture then into pretzel crumbs.
  4. Fill a pot with oil, a few inches deep. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F. Gently place 4-5 pieces of chicken into the oil and cook until golden and crisp. Remove chicken and let it rest. Continue until all chicken has been cooked.
  5. Eat plain or with your favorite dipping sauce.
