Ingredients:
- 1 lb. (400 grams) chicken breast, cut into strips
- 7 oz. (200 grams) pretzel sticks
- 4 tbsp. mustard
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp. mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp. honey
- dash of black pepper
- canola oil for frying
Directions:
- Place pretzels in a zip-top bag and crush into small pieces (use a rolling pin or meat tenderizer). Tip mixture out into a shallow bowl or plate.
- Whisk the egg, honey, mustard, mayonnaise, and pepper together in a medium-sized bowl.
- Dip the chicken into the egg mixture then into pretzel crumbs.
- Fill a pot with oil, a few inches deep. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F. Gently place 4-5 pieces of chicken into the oil and cook until golden and crisp. Remove chicken and let it rest. Continue until all chicken has been cooked.
- Eat plain or with your favorite dipping sauce.
