Sapphire? I have been fascinated with a nugget in this presentation that stayed on my mind long after viewing it - that another meaning of the word u'sphartem is "you shall refine yourselves - like sapphire - a translucent stone" - (at approx. 23:30 in the video). I have been searching my sources for this meaning and the Torah significance of sapphire. To no avail as yet. I would appreciate if anyone could direct me to a source or sources for the significance of sapphire and for this reading of the Hebrew word u'Sphartem. I can't wait to sit and hear this presentation all the way through again. Thank you Rabbi New. Reply

Thank you! Very insightful and relevant.
It makes complete sense that if we first give thanks and recognize the Creator, we will be more likely to use and enjoy Him and His world in the way He intends. Reply

Inspiration for both the novice and advanced student.
