Dear Rabbi Dubov, can you pls let me know if there is any literature on Bathsheba's heritage.
Mainly, I'm attempting to find out if she was a Hebrew or whether her parents were from the Hebrew tribes?

How can we say that dovid killed his יצר הרע through fasting if we clearly see that he sinned living with batsheva whether the sin was that he lived with her or the way it was done Reply

In response to Anonymous, Arizona, USA The commentaries explain that sin of King David was more of the WAY the whole thing was done. it was all "OK" with Halacha and he had right to do what he did. Uriah, the husband, had acted in the past in a way that he was worthy of being put in the front lines in a dangers place. But after all it was not right. Davis wanted to marry her and "managed" to achieve this albeit legally. See "Malbim" for an extensive explanation on this story. Reply

King David: The Later Years Dear Rabbi Dubov, why would the king feel so bad after been with Batshebah when in Israel it was customary for a soldier who was going to war give his wife a get just in case he would not return she would be free to marry another person. Therefore, this is the case with Batshebah. Was King David sin because he sent, purposely her husband to die so that he would not come back and return to his wife? Thank you for your teachings.
