Foundation, footholds, and housing. The ב shows a ר and at the bottom foothold, foundation, a ו. The word בר, shows a clearing of footholds in the order of fonts. A font is a receptacle of water, of מם. I love that word, mem-ory, a place to store water. Reply

More 'Bais opens to north?' Rabbi Raskin, I (think I) understand that if Bais opens to the north, then the top of Bais must orient east. I don’t ‘get’ the veracity of or how this orientation came to be understood. Could it be... The sun rises and reveals the world firstly from the east. As Bais is scribed, the top is rendered before the vertical and the base components. The top of Bais is revealed first. Therefor the top is oriented east? Thank you for your kind patience. North side of bais Zevulun, Imagine looking down at the World seeing the sun rise in the east - Top line of bais- then set... in the west Bottom of bais. The opened part becomes north! Reply

Beis open to north? Rabbi Raskin,
I don't 'get' how Bais opens to the north. If one were studying (written) Torah in the Mishkan facing The Ark in the Holy of Holies on the west side of the Miskhan, then the Beis would open to the south. Is it that from HaShems perspective from The Ark facing east to the entrance of the Mishkan the Beis would open to the north? Thank you.

With Respect,
Zevulun
