The Names of the Tribes on the Ephod

The High Priest's apron-like garment called the "ephod" had gems over the shoulder straps with the names of the twelve tribes engraved in them. The classical sources differ as to the order in which the tribes were named on the jewels. A spiritual interpretation of these opinions is that they describe two kinds of Jewish unity. (Based on Likutei Sichos, vol. 31.)

All manners of leaven -- not just bread -- must be disposed of before Passover. To facilitate this we must arrange for the sale of our chometz to a non-Jew. To arrange this, please contact your nearest ortodox rabbi. You simply need to to sign a form. The chometz remains in your home, but for the duration of Passover, will belong to a non-Jew. (Because after Passover the rabbi will by it back on your behalf.) Reply
