What a great lessons! Thank you Rabbi.
Well, it makes me think: It was in the times of my most difficult period in my life. I was helping my husband out of troubles in his family business and on top of all we had to move. So for a few days a few boxes with clothes had to be stored in the rented storage. But someone broke in in the night and stole almost all my clothes I had and a lot of machines of my husband. I was left literally with a few t-shirts, and underwear in other luggage I had at home and was helplessly standing afront of that broken door of the storage and all I was able to say was: "G-d gave, G-d toke away." Praised be His Name. I could not even cry from shock. But until today I do not trully understand why my clothes got stolen while I was helping others to get out of their misery. I never had meters of closets full of clothes. My wardrobe was not even 50 cm wide, and yet, all was gone in a few moments. It was just a clothing but I just can't get it - why it happen to me Reply

You say it is better to give nothing and smile than to give with a scowl. I am always miserable and not given to smiling..but surely it is better to give something rather than nothing???
Also..what does the Torah say if you feel that your charitable demeanor is being taken advantage of? Reply
