Masha G-d did not want to speak to him per se; but He wanted the other nations of the world to see that they had a prophet who could have been of the caliber of Moses had he chosen to make good moral choices. Hashem gave him a chance by speaking to him - and he blew that chance, and the excuses, for himself and the nations. Reply

Bilaam as a prophet. If Bilaam was such an evil person then why would G-d choose to speak to him to begin with? Why did G-d want to converse with him? Reply
