These shiurim are incredible - I appreciate his bringing down of Baal HaTurims - very unique and really enhances the shiur. May the shiurim be a zechus for his neshomo. Reply

Parashat Teitzei Dear Rabbi Gordon, So filled with pure spiritual joy following your classes on this portion (and the others) I must thank you for this! excuse my English as I am not a "native" being born on the other (wrong?) side of the Great Atlantic Pond (Europe)
Please may I add the following information which possibly can bring some more light to the verses of the second portion-aliyah- (22:6-7) concerning the bird mother and her young: as a former student in ornithology/biology I suddenly realized that many wild birds species make "replacement/substitution? egg laying" when the first brood failed or that a predator caught the young! The mother then returns to her nest and lay eggs again and therefore usually succeeds in breeding a new generation of birds. I am of course aware that the Holy Torah is not here dealing with wildlife conservation (as I did including in Eretz Israel) but with something else but still I feel there must be somehow a link to this "survival principle" perhaps hidden?
