I have two questions:

1) if the daughter of a Cohen marries a man that is a Cohen, then the brother of this woman technically would be permitted to go to her funeral? Correct? Because my understanding is that the issue is that the woman loses her Kehunah status once she marries a non-Cohen. Therefore, she’d be one of the 7 people that a Cohen would have to to attend their funeral.

2) if a Cohen marries a divorced woman, he then loses his Cohen status and can’t perform the Cohen duties. What happens if they get divorced? Does he get the Cohen status back?

Thank you! Reply

Hebrew Thank you so much for your lectures. It has had an unexpected advantage for me. The Synagogue I attend has been providing classes in Biblical Hebrew but they may be cancelled when the current Rabbi leaves and a new one enters. However, I have been attending these classes for about a year and a half and have a fairly good grasp of it. Your lectures have helped me broaden my vocabulary and, I believe, if I continue to listen, I will learn even more. So... Even if the classes are cancelled I can continue to learn with you.

I have also heard that Chabod is coming to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Do you know when and where? Reply
