Psalm 51 There are 70 interpetations to every section of Torah and they are all true. Reply

Psalm 51 The Rabbi described the Psalm as reflecting King David's repentance for his sin. But there are so many (in my opinion, tortured) explanations that King David did not sin. This apparent conflict appears in many situations (e.g., the Yakov/Rebecca birthright events). Are those just two independent, irreconcilable trains of thought? I heard a shiur by a non-Chabad Rabbi that Judiasm should be praised because it recognizes flaws in its leaders that also show the path if tikun. Reply

happiness and sadness One of the best things about sadness is that when you've been through it and you're happy and you try to share that happiness, sometimes people think it's because you don't know what it is to be sad. But having been through the valley of the shadow, you have a right to teach people that no matter how sad they are, they can be happy. Reply

joy born of happiness Dear Rabbi,

Thank you for this message. I just received some very disappointing news. As I wiped my tears, I thought of my Jewish friends at ( I am a Christian). Lo and behold, what is the topic today? Happiness. Your words confirmed to me what I, too, believe to be truth: "The joy of the Lord is my strength." Thank you for your wisdom. Reply
