From the High Holiday service. The melody conveys a plea for redemption of the soul, strengthening of the spirit, and mercy from our Heavenly Father for His children. It was introduced by the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory, on the holiday of Simchat Torah in 1956.
