I was in 4th grade when my mom, blessed her memory, said she would fulfill my Birthday wish, i wanted Talmud. The book-sales woman silently pull out 14 books Stories Of BaalShem Tov and Rabbe Nahman, and disappeared behind counter. I randomly started reading. I was captivated. I thanked her ever sincerely many times in my life. Reply

Really enjoyed that talk. Surely a story as emotive as this, and the author directing this at simple folk, maybe the princess is Shabbat.
The wine and apple are implusive self gratification, why did the character not take the wine and apple to the princess, instead consuming them immediately?
Perhaps the rabbi was saying something about contact with non jews and thereby becoming less concerned with Shabbat observance?

Due attention is paid to the Context, as well as to the Plain Meaning of the Nachmann story, and the method used is Exegesis rather than eisegesis.
