CORRECTION to what the Rabbi said Korkovan is NOT stomach. It is umbilicus (the navel).
Keiva is stomach and it is NOT the body part of Shevat. Reply

in response to Shoshana:

Clarifying Kirkovan Dear Shoshana,
According to Rambam the Kirkovan is only found in the bird and is the gizzard (or craw) that grinds the food. Similar to the stomach in a domesticated animal or human that digests the food.
In contrast to the keiva that would refer to the esophagus or rennet bag (see Rambam laws of shechita 6:17 and Sefer yetzirah translated by Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan P.212) Reply

in response to Rabbi Raskin:

Sorry that does not make sense. I was taught that it is the navel. Furthermore, it makes no sense that the body part of the month would be a body part that a human being doesn’t have. As far as esophagus goes, that would be the ושט
Obviously, there are other sources besides the Rambam that support what I am saying otherwise we would not have learned it as navel. Reply

I ran across this class today and I am so very glad that I did. It was fascinating. And now that I know about these Zodiac classes on the months I will listen to subsequent ones as well. Thank you! Reply
