Re: The reason that ten pieces are put out before the search is to ensure that Chametz will definitely be found while searching one's house. Being that we make a blessing on the search for Chametz, we want to ensure that we actually find some.

If one has already searched for Chametz in their home and has made a blessing there, there is no need to place a further ten pieces when searching in their office. Reply

Practical Halachah: Passover, Part 1 Ok I will try to do this and will start preparing for Passover not because I am forced to or have been lead in this direction. Rather I must do good and righteous Tzaddikim minded reflections on Passover and clean my self up before Hashem. Reply
