The Structure of Halacha

Some Small Corrections While the basic gist of this class is correct and very informative, I found a few small issues/corrections that are worth mentioning:

1. He says that making a blessing after meals is completely rabbinic. In fact, the Torah does command us to bless G-d after eating in Deuteronomy 8:10.
2. He says that the law forbidding us to handle money is a fence for the biblical prohibition against doing business on Shabbat. Note, doing business on Shabbat is also rabbinic, and a fence for the biblical prohibition against writing on Shabbat (see Shulchan Aruch Harav 306:4).
3. He says that Deuteronomy 25:12 refer to a man who cuts off his fellow's hand. In truth it's in the context of a woman who grabs her husband's rival's private parts. Reply
