5 years later: An Update There are no coincidences. "ה carefully orchestrates the quark moments of our lives. I'd asked 5 years ago, what would you advise a Mom who had a great relationship with her son when he was a teenager and then, it suddenly changed to anger and words of hatred. The response from Sonja was quite painful and almost a denial of what I felt and knew. Well, as it turns out, my son "came out" 2 years ago. And this is what was so painful for him to live with, alone, in the Orthodox Jewish community, within an Orthodox Jewish home and in an Orthodox Jewish school. I can say many things about my relationship with my children and specifically this son. Most importantly, I told him that I lovehim and accept everything about him and want him to be happy. And that is who I am, the kind of parent I am, the kind of Mother I am and the kind of relationship I have with my son that is, מ"ה, the testament of its strength. Reply

True understanding of your kid Ny, US March 2, 2011

Understanding it has to be understood that school/yeshiva cant be the answer to every one so parents shouldn't force their kid to go cuz it will only back fire , i know parents that pulled their kid out when they realized its not for the kid and he grew doing productive stuff like shluchis / work any thing that they enjoy Reply

parenting a teenager - question for anonymous, Edi Dear Anonymous, you are a mom who had a great relationship with your son. Please ask your son whether he had a great relationship with his mom. Listen to him and hear what he will tell you. Reply

Parenting A Teenager What would your advise be to a Mom who HAD a GREAT RELATIONSHIP with her son when he was a teenager and then, it suddenly changed to anger and words of hatred.
I keep asking my son, who will (I"H) be turning 23, why he talks to me and treats me with such anger and hatred.
All he says is, "Because I hate you. I don't want to talk to you. Go away.
I feel like crying because of this, all day. Reply

Bonding with Your Teen Taking the time to remove the leaches of the bad inclinations. Not only for your children but for your self. Having 1 bad inclination is enough compared to having much more than just 1 bad inclination. Taking the time to heal emotional wounds very well could starve a break down,Great talk. Reply
