Course syllabus

Lesson 1: The Essence of a Jew
August 21, 2023
Is Judaism a set of beliefs, behaviors, or something else entirely? In the first installment of this four-part series, we begin our journey into R’ Levi Yitzchak’s teachings by unpacking the first line of the Ten Commandments, “I am G-d, your L-rd,” and answering the question: What does it mean to be a Jew?
Lesson 2: Heart, Mind & Soul
August 28, 2023
Three of G-d’s names start with the Hebrew letter Aleph. But only one begins with the letter Yud. In this lesson, we get into the nitty-gritty of R’ Levi Yitzchak’s philosophy of the Jewish soul by exploring several layers of Jewish texts - from King Nimrod to the three sons of Korach.
Lesson 3: Leah and Rochel
September 4, 2023
Should we be in the world, but not of it? In this lesson, we’re introduced to the final major theme of R’ Levi Yitzchak’s work - the dichotomy between the spiritual and the material. While other Jewish thinkers might prefer asceticism over indulgence, R’ Levi Yitzchak uses the story of Matriarchs Rochel and Leah to lay the groundwork for a radical new approach to Jewish living.
Lesson 4: Where Heaven Meets Earth
September 11, 2023
In the final installment of our four-part series, we uncover the culmination of R’ Levi Yitzchak’s work - a revolutionary moral philosophy that has reverberated down through the Rebbe’s teachings and come to reshape the Jewish world. Tune in to find out more.
