Bronya Shaffer in conversation with Chana Weisberg

Mrs. Bronya Shaffer is a noted globetrotting lecturer on Jewish women's issues, and serves as a personal counselor and mentor for women, couples and adolescents. Mrs. Shaffer, a responder for Chabad.org’s Ask the Rabbi service, lives with her ten children in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

Chana Weisberg is the editor of TheJewishWoman.org and host of the Ordinary People, Extraordinary Stories podcast. She lectures internationally on issues relating to women, relationships, meaning, self-esteem and the Jewish soul. She is the author of six books. Her latest book, Shabbat Delights, is a two-volume series on the weekly Torah portion.

It is Friday evening. In a little while it is time to light the candles. Chana, Thank you for this opportunity. What a beautiful presentation. It was especially special for me. (I don’t see clearly until I focus intensely.) I suddenly realize it was Bronya. I listened and became deeply emotional. We have been in contact through “Ask a Rabbi” since the first part of 2022. What a wonderful person and friend she has been to me, what an inspiration. Her gentle spirit, her kind words, always with encouragement and understanding. It brings me to tears, the blessed, good kind of tears.

Thank you you both for being there.
What a special evening this is for me.
