Finding Freedom in the Soviet Gulag

Natan Sharansky is an Israeli politician, human rights activist, and former Soviet refusenik. Born in 1948 in the Soviet Union, he was imprisoned for nearly a decade for advocating Jewish emigration and human rights. Released in 1986, he moved to Israel, where he became a prominent political figure, serving as a minister in multiple governments. Sharansky later chaired the Jewish Agency for Israel, focusing on immigration and Jewish identity. His memoir, Fear No Evil, details his time in Soviet prison and his fight for freedom.
