Our Response to the Pittsburgh Shooting

Two people hiding under a table a man with a shot gun.. one lives one dies. Was not G-d there for both? I was wondering if someone can address when I watch victims that survived these atrocities that we are facing in our daily life.. The survivors say all I know is G-d was with me.. Does that mean G-d was not there for everyone else? I think not. We say at Yom Kippur in prayer asking G-d to forgive us and we utter the words who shall live and who shall die so that we make it into the book of life for yet another year.. Were people picked at this moment of a mass shooting who will be killed and who won't? I know it all goes even deeper that this with the individual that does the shooting and mental illness etc. My question is two people hiding under a table one lives one dies. Was not G-d there for both? Reply
