Apprehension of essence of Ohr through Yedias Hashlilah, and the impact of Mitzvos on Ahavah and Yirah.

מצוות לא תעשה elicit essence of Ohr, which is not in a state of revelation. The impact of these Mitzvos would, therefore, seem to be totally concealed. Such, however, is not entirely the case. Essence of Ohr is approachable indirectly through the process of negative inference, referred to as Yedias Hashlilah.

The point of this seeming digression is to indicate that the impact of essence of Ohr is not entirely out of the range of awareness. The Maamar then proceeds to a somewhat abstruse discussion of the relationship of positive and negative commandments to love and awe of G‑d.
