There is no clear Biblical prohibition. Nevertheless, slave ownership is forbidden due to the halachic maxim "the law of the land is legally binding" (Baba Kamma 113b). This rule was applied to slavery specifically (Aruch Hashulchan Yoreh Deah 267). Reply

Slavery If I were a slave, I'd do my best to serve. I've always seen slavery as a possiblity in the Torah, and I would be humbled and would not be offended. I'd be honored. Reply
