Chapter 100

1A song for a thanksgiving offering. Shout to the Lord, all the earth.   אמִזְמ֥וֹר לְתוֹדָ֑ה הָרִֽיעוּ לַֽ֜יהֹוָ֗ה כָּל־הָאָֽרֶץ:
A song for a thanksgiving offering. For thanksgiving, to recite it over thanksgiving offerings.   מזמור לתודה.  להודיה לאומרו על זבחי תודה:
2Serve the Lord with joy, come before Him with praise.   בעִבְד֣וּ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֣ה בְּשִׂמְחָ֑ה בֹּ֥אוּ לְ֜פָנָ֗יו בִּרְנָנָֽה:
Serve the Lord with joy. Now why so much? You should know the Lord is God, Who recompenses you with reward for your work, but the heathens need not worship with joy because their deities do not give them any reward.   עבדו את ה' בשמחה.  וכל כך למה דעו כי ה' הוא האלהים כשמשלם שכר פעולתכם אבל עובדי ע"ג אין להם לעבוד בשמחה שאין משלמין שכר:
3Know that the Lord is God; He made us and we are His, people and the flock of His pasture.   גדְּע֗וּ כִּ֥י יְהֹוָה֘ ה֚וּא אֱלֹ֫הִ֥ים ה֣וּא עָ֖שָׂנוּ וְל֣וֹ (כתיב וְלֹ֣א) אֲנַ֑חְנוּ עַ֜מּ֗וֹ וְצֹ֣אן מַרְעִיתֽוֹ:
He made us and we are His. When we were not in the world.   הוא עשנו ולא.  כשלא היינו בעולם:
4Come into His gates with thanksgiving, [into] His courtyards with praise; give thanks to Him, bless His name.   דבֹּ֚אוּ שְׁעָרָ֨יו | בְּתוֹדָ֗ה חֲצֵֽרֹתָ֥יו בִּתְהִלָּ֑ה ה֥וֹדוּ ל֜֗וֹ בָּֽרְכ֥וּ שְׁמֽוֹ:
.    בתודה.  בהודייה:
5For the Lord is good; His kindness is forever, and until generation after generation is His faith.   הכִּי־ט֣וֹב יְ֖הֹוָה לְעוֹלָ֣ם חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְעַד־דֹּ֥ר וָ֜דֹ֗ר אֱמֽוּנָתֽוֹ:
and until generation after generation. His faith will endure. Every expression of truth (אמת) and faith (אמונה) means the realization of a promise, that He makes true and assures His promise.   ועד דר ודר.  קיימת אמונתו כל לשון אמת ואמונה אמונת הבטחה שמאמין ומבטיח הבטחתו:
