I got 9 out of 10 correct. I got the first question wrong. I had no idea what symbol was on the head stones of Leviim. I knew the answers to some of the other question, but some of them I guessed. Reply

7/10 I am happy with the results of this quizzes! because I don't know Jewish symbols! so these quizzes give me chance to learn more! and to recalled what is looked away in memory! thank you Rabbi Posner for putting them together. Reply

Raymond West Hollywood May 8, 2025

I only scored a 7/10. One question I got wrong was the one about the menorah. I answered six instead of seven, only because I neglected to take into account the central, vertical branch. The rising sun one is also one that I had no idea about, so I simply guessed the wrong answer. And finally, my third mistake was the one about the lulav and etrog. I did not know the answer to that one either, but guessed it to be the three matzahs, figuring that generally speaking, Passover is a more popular Jewish holiday than is Sukkot Reply

Rabbi Golomb May 11, 2025
in response to Raymond :

Regarding the Menorah. Technically you are right. The term Menorah refers to the middle stem only. The 'kanim' are the branches so the verse instructs us to make a Menorah with three branches on one side and three on the other. Reply
