Shavuot is a two-day Jewish holiday that falls on the Hebrew calendar dates of Sivan 6–7. Here are the coinciding secular dates for the upcoming years:

Shavuot 2025 begins at sundown on Sunday June 1, 2025, and concludes at nightfall on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. The 10 Commandments are read on June 2, 2025. Yizkor is on June 13.

Also note: In Israel, the holiday is observed for just one day, and Yizkor is recited shortly after the 10 Commandments are read.

Why does Shavuot falls on Friday instead of a Sunday as usually? Torah mentions the count of 7 Shabbats and the day after the 7th Shabbos Reply

The Talmud (Menachot 65b) explains that the verse "on the day after Shabbat" does not mean Sunday. Instead, it is referring to the second day of Passover. We begin the Omer count from the 16th of Nissan, not specifically from Sunday. The Gemara brings multiple proofs of this. Please see here Reply

If morrow after Shabbat means ‘the second day of passover’, how does this is correct according to Torah which says Shavuot is ‘on the morrow after the seventh shabbath’ ?

Good question. The best option is to light a 48 hour yahrtzeit candle on Thursday, erev Shavuot, and then light the Shabbat candles using that flame. Reply

That would be Saturday night - a wedding cannot take place then, as Shavuot begins at the conclusion of Shabbat, and a wedding may not take place either on Shabbat or a holiday. Reply
