This is sooo funny! I laughed so at the wrong answers. Reply

David Harold Chester Petach Tikva, Israel September 24, 2024
in response to Rachel :

The bit I like the best is the last sentence of Jonah, where we discover that even the cattle of Nineveh could not tell their right from their left sides. Reply

Rachel October 9, 2024
in response to David Harold Chester:

Yes. That is funny. Yes, the people did not know right from wrong. Perhaps they were confused because they were taught lies and fantasies. Reply

I asked my Hebrew teacher what he thought about the book of Jonah. His reply: "That's a real head scratcher." Reply

B"H I got 9/10 I love to study Tanach more than anything else!!! Reply

Erika Germany July 12, 2024

If I would have known the meaning of a snooze, I would have picked the right answer. English is not my mother tongue, so I just read over the word snooze, that I did not know, and subsequently picked the wrong answer. In this time and day the Book of Jona is very important because teshuva is so very much important in these end days. Reply

Jim Krämer Pittsburgh, PA July 16, 2024
in response to Erika:

Hi Erika, in English we have some other silly expressions besides snooze for taking a nap:
°catch forty winks: Jonah caught forty winks.
°nod off: Jonah nodded off
°take a siesta(from the Spanish): Jonah took a siesta.

Languages are fun🙂 Reply

Refael Brazil July 17, 2024
in response to Erika:

The same thing happened to me! I got 9 out of 10 for that reason. That's consequence of the Tower of Babel I suppose... Reply

Erika Germany July 20, 2024
in response to Jim Krämer:

Hi Jim,
thanks for the info, Your last name is a German name, not an English name. How come?

be blessed

Erika Reply

Jim Krämer Pittsburgh, PA USA August 2, 2024
in response to Erika:

I am of German and Austrian descent. I speak English and German fluently. I was a teacher of German years ago. Now I just enjoy it and, of course, Hebrew! Reply

John London August 30, 2024
in response to Erika:

Ooh I saw extracts of Kramer vs Kramer on TV, so I thought the name must be American ... (Sorry, can't find a tongue-in-cheek emoji I can paste on here) Reply

This was a good quiz. Learned about Jonah in my Youth Group years ago. Jonah was a great story in DOING what our G_d tells us what to do the first time around. 10/10. Reply

10/10 I love the story of Jonah! This goes to show that God is always in control! and we should obey him in everything! question #10 was difficult for me! because I didn't know on which holiday the book of Jonah is read! so I googled the holidays! So Rosh Hashanah is the New Year! and then Yom Kippur is for repentance! I chose this answer! Because Jonah had to go to Nineveh to tell the people to repent of their sins! And I got it correct! Thanks Rabbi Posner for the quizzes! and for the learning aspect of it as well! I love these quizzes! Shalom. Reply

Don Ostrander Clarksville In July 11, 2024

9/10 like ole Jonah I was snoozing on one question. Reply

Rivka Rachum West Orange July 11, 2024

9/10 He took a snooze??? I thought surely he must be praying! Reply

John London July 11, 2024
in response to Rivka Rachum:

No, he'd turned his back on the Almighty, and only wanted anything to do with Him once he was int the fish's belly (Incidentally, the fish can only have been a sperm whale - It's OK for the Hebrew scripture to call it a fish, it wasn't Linnaeus that invented the language and its dictionary definitions) Reply

Minucha Chicago July 11, 2024
in response to Rivka Rachum:

I made the same mistake. Reply

Rachel October 9, 2024
in response to Rivka Rachum:

He thought he could get away from G-D by taking a cruise to another country. He did not want to warn the enemies of Israel so they would have a chance to stop being evil and turn their lives around so G-D would save them. He thought “I sure don’t want to help those people. Look what they did to us!” “ I’ll go to another country and forget it all.” Reply
