Meditation on a Scolding

Few words with deep content. Really made me think of my role as a parent, made me aware that I have to respond to the Creator for the child he has trusted me to guide, huge responsibility. Awareness of being parent from a different and divine view. Thank you. Reply

COMMENT Are you saying "Never scold a child?"
Sometimes it may be necessary to scold a child.
But, how you do this is, to me, the question to be asked here.
There is scolding and then there is scolding. Yes - "think of who this is a child of the Creator of the Universe." - and only then, scold accordingly when absolutely necessary. Reply

HONORING G-D'S CREATION Sometimes i am amazed at people who are so polite to the grocer, dry cleaner, store clerk, etc. They are patient and understanding with them, then i have seen them turn to their OWN child or spouse and talk to them like they were some odious street creature. Our children espcially, need to be given the same respect that one would offer to a near stranger. I have always been amazed by this phenomena...talk to strangers so politely, treat the people that u supposedly love with contempt. I stand b4 g-d and i know that it is wrong to esteem anyone more than him (1st) and family -2nd. But if i follow the 1st part with all of my heart, it will be easier to do the 2nd part. We are all g-d's children and i believe that he wants us to be a living example of kindness. Reply
