Avrohom (“Avremy”) Zakon passed away on April 1 after contracting COVID-19.

He was a familiar face in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, N.Y., where he was born and raised.

Zakon is remembered as a happy person always trying to lift others’ spirits and always greeting them with a smile.

He was predeceased by his father, Aharon, and his brother Shmaryohu, who passed away at a young age.

Zakon is survived by his mother, Sima; siblings Yosef Zakon and Braindy Naparstak; and many nieces and nephews.
