For more than 25 years, Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Klein served as a teacher in the local cheder in Monsey, N.Y. He passed away on April 20.
Klein lived the ideals he taught the hundreds of students in his years in front of the classroom, gaining renown and respect across the community for his genuine care and compassion for fellow Jews. His patience and clear explanations of text belied his tremendous Torah scholarship.
He volunteered with many organizations and charities, providing food and financial assistance for those in need.
Klein was a devoted Chassid of Rabbi Nachum Dov Brayer, the leader of the Boyan Chassidic dynasty, who was famously encouraged to assume the mantle of leadership by the Rebbe—Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory.
Klein was fiercely supportive of all Boyan institutions and causes, including the Ruzhin yeshivah.
He is survived by his family.
